Gemma and Aaron’s June wedding day was filled with sunshine, laughter and lots of lovely personal touches. When we asked why they chose us as their Harrogate wedding venue, Gemma told us…“it’s a really beautiful space with great light and connection to the outdoors. The simple decor gave us the freedom to add our own individual style”.

‍The two o’clock ceremony took place out on our terrace with Valley Gardens providing a gloriously green backdrop. Once Gemma and Aaron had said “I do”, guests were served chilled peach bellinis to enjoy whilst Bethany Clarke whisked the newly married couple off into the gardens to capture some beautiful shots.

For their wedding breakfast Gemma and Aaron chose sharing platters of artisan breads with dipping oils, olives, sun dried tomatoes and chargrilled artichokes. Main course was a wonderfully fresh fillet of salmon with a lemon and parsley crust. New potatoes, baby leaf salad and Mediterranean vegetables were all served in sharing bowls for guests to help themselves to. Dessert was lemon curd and cream filled wedding cake (baked by Aaron’s mum!) served with raspberry coulis and fresh berries.

Any advice for couples planning a wedding?

“Don’t stress about it. Not every little detail will go exactly as planned but everyone there is there for you and will enjoy it whatever. The whole day was really special.”
